Dear Me國(미국),

 "진짜진짜 마지막 크리스마스 준비!!"

오늘은 크리스마스 과자집을 만드는 날이다.

원래는 생강쿠키나 Graham Cracker로 

과자집을 만들고, 크리스마스 느낌으로 꾸민다.

하지만 생강쿠키와 Graham Craker는 

맛이 그저그래서 호스트맘께서

Hershey에서 파는 과자집 키트를 사주셨다.

그래서 나와 함께사는 또다른 언니와 함께

과자집을 만들었다. 

둘다 재미있게 만들어서 

맛이있을까하고, 귀퉁이를 먹어보았다.

초코라고 분명 써져있었고,

초코과자향에 초코과자 색이였는데

초코가 아닌 것 같았다.

초코를 너무 좋아하는 사람으로써,

Hershey에게 조금 실망했다 ㅎㅎ

그래도 과자집을 만드는 추억을 하나 더

만든 것 같아서 너무 감사했다.

Today is the day to make a cookie house.

Originally, Ginger Cookies or Graham Cracker

make a cookie house and decorate it with a Christmas feel.

But Ginger Cookies and Graham Craker

doesn't taste that good.

So my host mom bought a 

confectionery kit from Hershey.

So with another older sister who lives with me,

we made a cookie house.

Making both of them fun.

I wondered if it tasted good, and I tried the corner.

It was clearly written as Chocolate,

It was the color of the chocolate sweets, 

with the scent of chocolate sweets

It didn't seem like chocolate.

As someone who likes chocolate so much,

I was a little disappointed with Hershey haha

Still, one more memory of making a cookie house.

I was so grateful that I made it.

 "크리스마스 준비 제3탄!!!"

오늘도 크리스마스 베이킹이다.

이번에는 어제 말했던 

크리스마스색 버터 쿠키를 만드는 

크리스마스 베이킹 날이다.

우선 우리 호스트가족은

Super Shooter Cookie Maker를 사용해서

크리스마스 모양을 찍어낸다.

찍어낸 쿠키만죽위에

크리스마스 색들로 꾸미고,

초콜릿칩, M&Ms, 그리고 크리스마스 스프링클로

쿠키를 예쁘게 꾸민다. 

쿠키만드는 기계가 너무 신기했다.

속도가 엄청 빨라서

만드는 시간이 많이 단축되는 것 같았다.

나도 원래 베이킹을 엄청 좋아하기때문에,

쿠키를 만드는게 너무 즐겁고 

또 하나의 추억이 만들어지는 것이

너무 신나고 감사한 시간이였던 것 같다.

Today is also Christmas baking.

It's Christmas baking day.

First of all, our host family

use Super Shooter Cookie Maker to

make a Christmas shape.

On top of the diced cookies,

we decorate it with Christmas colors,

Chocolate chips, M&Ms, and Christmas sprinkles

Decorate my own cookies pretty.

The cookie making machine was so amazing.

Because the speed is so fast.

It seemed that the production time was shortening a lot.

I also like baking so much,

I really enjoy making cookies.

Another memory is created

I think it was a very exciting and grateful time

to prepare our Jesus's Birthday.

 "크리스마스 준비 제2탄!"

이번 주부터는 크리스마스 준비를 시작한다.

크리스마스 트리는 이미 꾸몄지만,

이번주는 크리스마스 베이킹을 하면서

크리스마스 준비를 하는 것이다.

크리스마스 베이킹은 

크리스마스 느낌의 쿠키를 만드는 것이다.

가족마다 다 만드는 방법이 다르다고 한다.

우리는 크리스마스 스프링클로 꾸민

초콜릿칩쿠키와 빨간색, 초록색, 기본 쿠키를 구웠다.

나는 초콜릿칩쿠키를 정말 좋아한다.

내가 좋아하는 것에

내가 또 좋아하는 초콜릿 아이싱을 하고

크리스마스 스프링클을 뿌렸더니

정말 내가 좋아하는 것 모음이였다.

많이 먹으면 몸에 안좋은 것도 알지만,

너무 맛있어보여서

두개만 먹고, 크리스마스까지 기다리기로

나 자신과 약속했다.

"Preparing Christmas Part 2!!!!"

Starting this week, we start preparing for Christmas.

The Christmas tree has already been decorated,

but this week, we are going to do

Christmas Baking.

It makes cookies that look like Christmas.

It is said that each family has a different method of making.

We decorated with Christmas sprinkles on the

baked chocolate chip cookies and

red, green, and basic butter cookies.

I really like chocolate chip cookies.

I also have my favorite chocolate icing,

I sprinkled on Christmas sprinkles.

It was a collection of things I really liked.

I know that eating a lot of sweet stuff is bad for the body,

but it looked so delicious.

So I promised myself to eat only two and

leave it until Christmas.

 "내 첫 Snow Day!"

오늘은 내 첫 Snow Day였다.

Snow Day는 눈이 너무 많이 올때,

학교는 늦게 시작하거나, 취소가 된다.

이번에는 온라인 수업이라는 방법도 있었지만,

학교에서 수업을 취소했다.

나와 내 친구들의 예상으로는, 

학교에서 우리가 너무 기대하고 있던 날이여서

취소를 한 것 같다.

원래는 눈이 많이 오는 당일 새벽 다섯시쯤에

부모님께 문자나 이메일이 간다고 한다.

그대신 이번에는 그 전날 수업이 끝나자마자,

선생님께서 부모님께 이메일을 보냈다.

눈이 15인치(38cm) 정도 온다고 해서, 

너무 기대가 되었다.

그 정도로 많은 눈은 겨울에 스키장에 가서도

잘 못보는 양의 눈이다.

저녁때부터 눈보라가 심하게 오더니, 

1시간 만에 5cm정도가 내렸다.

밤이여서 밖에 나가지는 못하고, 

거실에 앉아서 벽난로도 켜고, 

핫코코아를 먹으면서

영화를 보았다.

밤에 눈보라가 지나간 후에, 

아침에 일어나자마자, 

눈사람도 만들고, 눈에서 열심히 놀았다.

내가 만들어 본 눈사람중에 가장 컷던 것 같다.

이렇게 눈도 많이오고,

갑자기 학교도 가지 않고, 

눈에서 놀아서 너무 행복했던 날이였다.

"My Frist Snow Day!!!"

Today was my first Snow Day.

Snow Day is when it snows too much,

School starts late or cancels.

There was also a method called online class this time,

but the school canceled class.

As expected of me and my friends,

It’s the day we were so excited about at school,

we thought that the school canceled it.

Originally, around 5 a.m. on a snowy day

They send texting or emailing to their parents.

That today is a snow day.

Instead, this time as soon as the class is over the day before,

The teacher sent an email to the parents.

The weather forecast said that 

snow will come about 15 inches (38 cm),

I was so excited.

That much snow, even if you go to the ski resort in winter,

It's that you can't see well in Korea.

Blizzard has been severe since evening,

It fell at about 5cm in 1 hour.

It’s night so I can’t go outside,

Sit in the living room and turn on the fireplace,

While drinking hot cocoa

I made a snowman and played hard n the snow.

I think it was the most cut snowman I've ever made.

It snows so much,

Suddenly not going to school,

It was a very happy day to play in the snow.

 "다가오는 크리스마스"

이번주는 우리집도 크리스마스 준비를 시작했다.

원래는 조금 더 일찍 준비하려고 했는데,

다른 일때문에 우리는 조금 늦게 시작했다.

그래서 우리는 집 밖과, 집안을 모두 꾸몄다.

우리는 지붕에 전구를 붙이고

앞마당에는 예수님의 탄생을 의미하는 

장식을 놓았다.

집안에는  크리스마스트리와, 

난로 위에 스타킹을 걸어 놓았다.

그리고 집안 곳곳 마다 예수님의 탄생을

축하하는 장식들도 놓았다.

이렇게 하루하루 크리스마스가 되기를 기다리는게

장식들을 보니 더 기대가 된다.

"Upcoming Christmas"

This week my house also started preparing for Christmas.

Originally, I was trying to prepare a little earlier,

We started a little late because of other things.

So we decorated both outside and inside the house.

We put a light bulb on the roof

In the front yard, it means the birth of Jesus

 "내 첫 추수감사절"

오늘은 내가 미국에서 처음 맞는 추수감사절이다.

내가 크리스마스 다음으로 기대하고 있던 휴일이다.

영화를 보면 가족이 다같이 모여서 

감사기도를 드리고, 큰 칠면조를 먹는 장면이 나온다.

그래서 나는 너무 기대를 하고 있었는데, 

코로나 때문에 다 같이 모이지 못한다고 했다.

그럼에도 불구하고 우리는 다 같이 둘러 앉아서, 

이번해에 감사했던 일들을 나누고

다 같이 저녁을 먹었다.

정말 추수감사절의 시작,

미국에서 추수감사절을 보내니, 

너무 새롭고, 추수감사절의 의미가 더 다가왔다.

"My First Thanksgiving in America"

Today is my first Thanksgiving in America.

This is the holiday I was looking forward to after Christmas.

When you watch a movie, the whole family gets together

a scene of thanksgiving and eating a large turkey comes out.

So I was so excited,

They said they couldn't get together because of the corona.

Nevertheless, we all sit around together,

Sharing things that I was grateful for this year.

We all ate dinner together.

It's really the beginning of Thanksgiving,

Having Thanksgiving in America,

It's so new, and the meaning of Thanksgiving came closer.

 "코로나로 인한 속상한 학교생활"

이번주와 저번주는 학교를 가지 못했다.

학교에서 코로나확진자가 조금씩 나와서

나는 집에서 온라인 수업을 들었다.

집에서 해도 아침 8시부터

오후 3시까지 수업을 듣는다.

달라진 것은 친구들을 대면으로 못보는 것과

체육같은 경우는 선생님이 보내주신

과제를 FLipgrid 라는 것으로 찍어서 올려야 한다는 것이

내가 학교에 가서 수업을 듣는 것과 다른 점이다.

그리고 미술이나 준비물이 필요한 수업은

학교 문앞에 바구니에 선생님들께서

넣어 놓으시면 우리가 가져가는 것이다.

이번 준비물은 유약과 내가 저번에 만든 도자기인데, 

미술 선생님꼐서 적어주신 메모를 보고 정말 감동을 받았다.

내가 한국인이라는 것을 아시고, "감사~!"라고 적어 주셨다.

내 생각에는 번역기에 "Thanks"를 찾으신 것 같다.

다행히 내가 예상한 것보다 수업도 체계적이고

궁금한 것과 공지사항을 잘 들을 수 있어서 

정말 너무 다행인 것 같다.

이번 추수감사절이 고비일 것 이라고 다들 그러는데,

확진자도 더이상 늘어나지 않고

다시 학교에 가서 친구들과 같이 수업을 들었으면 좋겠다.

그리고 이렇게 힘든시기에도 힘을 낼 수 있는 

믿음이 있어서 더 잘 이겨낼 수 있는 것 같다.

사람이 감당할 시험 밖에는 너희가 당한 것이 없나니 

오직 하나님은 미쁘사 

너희가 감당하지 못할 시험 당함을 허락하지 

아니하시고 시험 당할 즈음에 

또한 피할 길을 내사 너희로 능히 감당하게 하시느니라

"Sad Temporary School Life Due to COVID"

I didn't go to school this week and last week.

The COVID 19 affected school little by little.

So I took online classes.

Even at home from 8 am

I take classes until 3 pm.

The difference is not seeing your friends face-to-face

Like PE, the teacher uploads the assignment

and we upload it at Flipgrid.

It's different from going to school and taking classes.

And classes that need supplies, like art.

Teachers put it in the basket at the school door

and we take it.

This time, the glaze and the pottery I made last time,

When I saw the memo that the art teacher wrote down, I was really impressed.

Knowing that I am Korean, he wrote "감사!"

I think she found "Thanks" in the translator.

Fortunately, the classes are more systematic than I expected

 "이 시국 할로윈!"

ㅎㅎ오늘은 조금 재밌는 제목을 들고 왔다.

할로윈!!!!!

조금 무서운 감이 없지 않아 있는 행사이다.

하지만 우리집(홈스테이집)은 

무서운 분장(귀산, 마녀, 등등)은 안한다고 했다.

그래서 나는 해리포터의 헤르미온느,

언니는 코렐라인, 첫째는 Life Guard,

둘째는 해적, 셋째는 경찰, 막내는 블랙팬서가 되었다.

우리는 교회의 친한분과,

여기 가족과 많이 친한 동생과 같이

Trick or Treat을 하러 갔다.

보통은, 집집마다 벨을 눌러서 

집주인이 나오면 사탕, 초콜릿, 젤리 등등을 받는다.

하지만 지금은 코로나가 있는 시기이기 때문에,

집집마다 마당에 부스를 설치해 두어서

사람들이 와서 가져갈 수 있도록 해 놓았다.

마스크를 쓰고 돌아다니니, 조금 느낌이 이상했지만,

그래도 너무 신나고 재미있는 시간이였다.

Haha, Today I came with a slightly interesting title.

Halloween!!!!!

"10월의 어느 눈 오는 날에"

정말 믿기지 않는 일이 벌어지고 말았다.

10월에 눈이 오는 그런일이 일어났다.

일기예보에서 눈이 온다고는 했지만, 

일기예보를 완전히 믿지 않았다.

그.런.데.

아침에 학교에 가려고 보니,

우리 차와, 마당에 눈이 소복히 쌓여있었다.

정말 너무 놀라서 "헉!!!!" 하고 놀랐다.

하지만 우리집이 다른 동네보다 더 추워서

여기만 눈이 올 것이라고 생각했는데

학교로 내려가니, 그곳에서도 눈이 왔다!!

주님꼐서 나에게 많은 경험을 시켜주시려고

신기한 경험들을 시켜주시나 보다.

 

"On A Snowy Day in October"

Something really incredible happened.

It snowed in October.

Although the weather forecast said it was snowing,

I didn't fully believe in the weather forecast.

By the way.

When I tried to go to school in the morning,

The snow was piled up in our car and in the yard.

I was really so surprised that I said, "Oh!!!!" I was surprised.

But the location of my house is 

colder than in other neighborhoods.

I thought it would only snow here.

When I went down to school, it snowed there too!!

I think God is making me experience many thing,

to use me bigger!

 "Walking with God"

오늘은 내가 채플시간에 들은 

설교 내용을 이야기해 보려고 한다.

이번 설교의 주제는 

"주님과 함께하는 삶" 이였다.

우리의 이번년도 Spiritual Theme을 

가지고 설교를 해주셨다.

우리의 Theme Verse는 

미가서 6:8

"사람들아, 여호와께서 선한 것이 무엇인지

너희에게 보이셨다. 

그가 너희에게 요구하는 것은 

옳은 일을 행하며 한결같은 사랑을 보이고, 

겸손한 마음으로 너희 하나님과 교제하며 사는 것이다."

"교제하며 사는 것이다"가 

영어로는 "With your GOD" 이라고 되어있다.

이렇게 되면,

Act justly with your God,

Love mercy with your God,

Walk humbly with your God. 이 된다.

우리 Theme Verse를 계속 생각하고

설교를 듣다보니, 정말 많이 다른 방향에서 

생각하고 이해하게 되었다.

As I listened to the sermon, I saw a lot of different directions

that I can think and understand.

Dear Me國(미국),

"이른 크리스마스 준비!"

오늘은 양말눈사람을 만들었다.

이 눈사람은 첫째 Sofia의 겨울 공연비용을

위해서 하는 모금 활동이다.

Sofia가 겨울에 플로리다에 있는 디즈니월드에서

공연 촬영이 있다고 했다. 

그래서 크리스마스에 맞게 양말 눈사람을 

만드는 중이다.

벌써 주문이 80개 이상이 들어와서

Sofia가 신나게 주말마다 만드는 중이다.

그런데 이번주 주말에는 나도 해보고 싶어서

오늘 나도 열심히 도왔다.

양말안에 쌀을 2:1 비율로 넣고,

중간을 묶어서 두개로 나눈후에,

리본, 단추, 눈알 스티커로 

꾸미면 끝이다!

별로 오래 안걸릴줄 알았는데, 

하나 만드는데 시간이 생각한 것보다는 오래 걸렸다.

그래도 내가 좋아하는 크리스마스 느낌이

많이 나서 되게 즐거웠다.

Sofia가 비용을 많이 모아서 

공연가는데 부족하지 않았으면 좋겠다.

"Early Chistmas Preparing"

Today I made a sock snowman.

This snowman first paid for Sofia’s winter performance

It is a fundraising activity for her acting.

Sofia has performance filming at Disney World in Florida.

So we made a sock snowman for Christmas.

There are already more than 80 orders

Sofia is making it every weekend.

But this weekend I want to help it, too.

I also helped hard today.

Put the rice in the sock in a ratio of 2:1,

Tie the middle and divide it into two,

With ribbons, buttons, and eyeball stickers

Decorate it and you're done!

I thought it wouldn't take long,

It took longer than I thought to make one.

Still, my favorite Christmas feeling

It was very fun to come out a lot.

I hope Sofia saves a lot of money

that is enough to go to Disney World.

 "긴 연휴에는..."

저번주에 4일 연휴가 있었어서

나는 홈스테이집의 외가에 다녀왔다.

우선 외가는 우리가 흔히 생각하는 

그런 외가가 아닌, 한번에 다 같이 모이면,

백명정도 되는 아주아주 큰 외가집이다.

나는 그런 친척댁에 가본 적이 없어서, 

너무 놀랐다. 그리구 같이사는 동생들이

자신들은 사촌이 42명이 있다고 했다.

하지만 이번에는 다 모이는 것이 아니라,

40명 정도 모인다고 했다. 여기 외가댁은 

교회가 수련회를 오면 지내게 해주는 

수련원 같은 것을 운영하는 것이라고 하셨다.

위치가 미국과 캐나다 사이에 있는 온테리오 호수와 

15분 거리에 위치해 있어서, 

가는 것은 5시간 정도 걸렸다. 

도착하자마자 동생들이 집 소개를 해준다고 해서,

열심히 40분 정도를 따라다녔다. 

집안에 체육관, 트램폴린 방, 동물원 등이 있었다.

그리고 밖에는 큰 놀이터가 3개가 있고, 

엄청 큰 축구장이 있었다. 

가족도 큰만큼, 집도 무척 컸다.

우리는 그곳에서 이틀을 자고 왔는데, 

그 이틀 동안, 정말 많은 체험을 했다.

Jack-o-lanten도 만들고, 숨바꼭질도 하고, 

온테리오 호수도 가보고, 놀이터에서도 뛰어다니고,

저녁에는 노을을 보러 지붕위에도 올라가 보고,

밤에는 별자리를 찾아보는 귀중한 경험들을 많이 했다.

내가 이렇게 좋은 경험을 할 수 있다는게

너무 감사하고 다음에도 이런 기회가

또 왔으면 하는 바램이다.

"On Long Long Weekend...."

There was a long weekend last week.

I went to my homestay family's Grandparent's house..

First of all, what we often think of a regular family.

If they all come together at once,

It is a very, very large family house with about 100 people.

I have never been to such a relative's house,

I was so surprised. And the younger siblings who live together

They said they have 42 cousins and their will be more!!!

But this time it’s not all gathering,

It was said that about 40 people gathered. 

When the church comes to the retreat,

Grandparents said it was to run something like a training center.

It is near Lake Ontario.

Lake Ontario is located between the 

United States and Canada,

15 minutes away, It took about 5 hours to go.

As soon as I arrived, my younger siblings introduced me to the house,

I followed hard for about 40 minutes.

There was a gym, a trampoline room, and a zoo in the house.

And there are 3 large playgrounds outside,

There was a huge soccer field.

As much as the family was big, the house was very big.

We slept there for two days,

During those two days, I had so many experiences.

Make Jack-o-lanten, play hide-and-seek,

Go to Lake Ontario, run around in the playground,

In the evening, go up on the roof to see the sunset,

At night, I had a lot of valuable experiences 

like searching for constellations.
