Hello, everyone! :)
Long time no see!
Stella Gyurin Kim is back!
I had a really nice summer vacation and I hope you did, too.
Now that summer is over, it's time to write again.
I wish everyone a great health and happiness.
Do you remember Sports Day?
We got really excited because we didn't study at all!
Also, we got presents and the lunch menu was really great.
But the best thing was playing different kinds of sports.
Well, everything was great, but there was a little problem, so all my teammates
were really upset. It happened when we were running the last race.
It was the famous relay race! In order to win, everyone must run fast and pass the baton
properly. It is a team sport, so not a single player can make a mistake.
My team was running really well, so all of us were happy.
Suddenly a girl from the white team pushed my teammate, so she fell down.
We, the blue team, were so angry! We began to shout, "What are you doing?! Why did you push her?!"
While we were yelling, our teammate got up and started to run again. She tried her best, but lost.
However, we still won the relay race! We became 1st place.
We were happy, but still upset.
So, our team went to the teacher and told her what happened.
But our teacher said it was okay because our team won the relay race anyways.
At that moment, I thought it was unfair.
Winning or losing is very important, but the most important rule is to play fair game.
This is a true sportsmanship.
The teacher called the girl and told her to apologize to our teammate.
And she did.
Our team felt better after she apologized and we were okay.
It was my first time feeling this kind of emotion. I've never thought of this kind of situation, but through this race, I've realized that I should also be fair and honest person. Whenever I swim and compete, I will remember to be a real player with real skills.
